See how it works
A quick walkthrough of pasting a link and saving your GIF.
How it works
-
01
Paste a link
Add a direct media URL, or the address of a public webpage that shows a GIF.
-
02
We verify the files
The server scans the page and confirms the real format of each file it finds.
-
03
Preview and download
Choose the results you want and download them, or grab several together as a ZIP.
Links and sources that work
The downloader handles the many ways a GIF can appear online, as long as the file is publicly reachable in the page the server receives.
- Direct GIF file links, including addresses with query strings.
- GIFs served from a CDN or without a .gif ending in the address.
- Links that redirect one or more times before the actual GIF.
- Public blog posts, news articles, forum threads, and social posts.
- Lazy-loaded images and Open Graph or Twitter preview tags.
GIF, MP4, WebM, and WebP
Many animations that look like GIFs are really short videos or WebP images. Here is why a download may not be a .gif file.
| Format | What it is | How it is handled |
|---|---|---|
| GIF | A classic animated image file. | Verified by its signature and downloaded as a .gif file. |
| MP4 | A short video many sites use in place of GIFs. | Offered as a video file, clearly labeled, never renamed to .gif. |
| WebM | Another common web video format. | Offered as a video file in its original format. |
| Animated WebP | A modern animated image format. | Offered as a WebP file; still WebP images are ignored. |
Safe, private, and honest about limits
Server-side protection
Links are processed on the server, with safeguards that block private or internal network addresses.
Nothing stored
Files are streamed through the server and deleted automatically. No public gallery is created.
No account, no watermark
Free to use with no sign-up, and files are delivered in their original quality.
Honest limitations
It does not bypass logins, paywalls, CAPTCHA, or website security, and cannot read JavaScript-only media.
Troubleshooting
- Nothing was found
- The page may load its media with JavaScript, which the server cannot run. Open the animation on its own and paste its direct link.
- The page needs a login
- This tool cannot sign in for you. While you can see the media, open it directly, copy its address, and paste that.
- The result is MP4, not GIF
- The source is a video. The tool shows the true format and downloads the real file rather than renaming it.
- The website blocked the request
- Some sites refuse automated access. If you have a direct file link, try that instead.
- A download link expired
- Links are short-lived for security. Find the GIF again to get a fresh link.

No. It works with publicly accessible links. It does not bypass logins, paywalls, CAPTCHA, or security controls, and it cannot read media that a page loads only with JavaScript.
Many animations are really MP4, WebM, or animated WebP files. The tool offers the real format, clearly labeled, instead of pretending it is a GIF.
Files are processed on the server, are not stored permanently, and abuse prevention uses a hashed value instead of your raw IP address.
